Mom tip!

I have read that even though a table is clean in a restaurant it could still be teaming with germs.
This is because often they use the same cloth over and over to clean tables. Now a days with things like MRSA out there you can never be to careful. No matter what you do your toddler will eat off the table! You can't prevent it... Or can you!

I saw these table mats first at Babies R Us then Walmart, Kmart, and now the local grocery store. They are great! They don't cost to much, they are usually friendly to the environment (or at least the package says they are)! They give the kids something to look at, and provide a clean surface for the child to eat on!

The ones I buy are called "Table Toppers" You can also find them on http://www.tabletopper.com/ they are great! And come in many different designs! They easily stick to the table and don't take up much room in the diaper bag! I use them so much that I bought a case similar to the type you use for wet wipes on the go! I can't say enough about these. When it comes to the safety of the kids, well you know!

This is a sample of what the Baby Einstein ones look like (borrowed the pic from table toppers) They have tons of others to choose from as well as tons of other way cool products!

These are not my normal posts and I am not getting paid to post this. I just really love things like this that are simple, but take some of the worry out of life!

The princess!

My daughter is definitely a princess. She is cute, independent, outgoing, demanding, and we are completely wrapped around her tiny fingers. One example is the new bed daddy got her for her birthday. Despite already having a toddler bed daddy ordered her a bed that is more fitting with who she is! She is totally into Dora right now. This is our princess in her new bed, that I put together while both her and her brother attempted to help me! Which was not fun at all, for me. After, a painstakingly (Literally, I hurt my hand during the construction, not to mention the horrific headache the instructions gave me. Since when are instructions only pictures and no words!) putting together this bed in the living room I realized it wouldn't fit into the bedroom. I had to take off the canopy. Duh, You might say, but this did not dawn on my sleep deprived brain. My daughter didn't want it moved, and at that point if we had room in the living room I would have left it there. The only thing not Dora on the bed is her Wall-E pillow.

Choking Hazard!

I think the biggest choking hazard my youngest child, my son, faces is his older sister. The other day I gave my daughter some of those Gerber Crunchies, the veggie dip type, in her Gerber snack bowl, the one that attempts to keep her from making a mess! She was in the living room playing and enjoying her snack. Her brother was enjoying his tummy time, any day now he is going to crawl. I ran into the kitchen, which is only 10-15 feet from the living room, just to get a glass of water.

When I hear my daughter laughing and clapping about something. She does this when she thinks or knows she has done a good job or done something good. At first I couldn't figure out what she had done. I was standing in the hall staring at them then I realized she had shared her crunchies with her brother. He had a crunchie hanging out his mouth almost like a cigarette. I screamed, and ran in the living room removing the crunchie as quickly as I could. I then explained to Evie that brother is a baby and can't have big girl food.

High Chair Disappointment!

I am so disappointed in the high chair that I simply loved (in the store). It matched everything, we had a pooh theme at first, and all it's features sounded perfect. However, what sounds good and what is actually practical are all to often separate things all together. My first disappointment came when we got the chair home and put together. Our dinning room is carpeted, and the wheels don't roll well on it. Well big deal you might say, or at least that is what I said.

The big problem came this evening after my daughter vomited all over while sitting in her high chair. I soon discovered that all the glorious features make it exceptionally difficult to clean. All the moving parts mean nooks and crannies for stuff to get lodged inside of, and stuck permanently. Yuck, old food and vomit! Not to mention all the harness straps were next to impossible to get off. I am praying I will be able to get them back on!!!!

It took me forever to get it clean, and made me realize how really dirty it was even before this happened. I had thought I was doing a good job keeping it clean until I was forced to move things and take some of it apart. Let me tell you, "GROSS" is an understatement. When it comes to your kids and where they eat clean is a MUST! Keep that in mind when you shop for a high chair.

I did some looking for a new chair and the only ones I could find with out all the problems I discovered were really expensive. One I loved (when I saw it online) was 300.00$. Yikes. My daughter is definitely queen in this castle, but no way! disinf
